Feb 08 for a pass to The Club

SEGA sent over a note that their shooter-for-points game, The Club will be dropping in February next year. If you don’t know much about the club, I won’t blame you. There hasn’t really been that much publicity for the game yet, but here’s the gist…
There’s 8 guys, and they all have different stats (stamina, speed and strength), that well, determines how great a fighter they are. You’re thrown into small missions, sometimes only for 3 minutes or so, and you’re tasked with taking out as many of the meatbags in the level as possible. Oh, and you do it for a high score. The fast you kill them, the bigger the “combos” you pull off, the better your score.
Sound like your cup of tea? Well, for me I figure it’s worth a try. I really do like the play-over-and-over-again arcade style of the game. It’s being produced by Bizarre Creations, mostly knows for their Project Gotham series, so it’s a got a good studio behind it. Let’s see if it keeps us all interested for more than 10 minutes.

That is a different concept on the shooter genre. Heck, I’d give anything a try just to see how it works. I’m not sure if it would hold my interest for too long because I really need my games to have some “purpose” to them. But hey, maybe it will have that “quickie pickup and play” appeal that would make it good for quick little gaming sessions when you feel that you just gotta kill something after a long day at work.
