Crack Down on its way to Wii
September 11th, 2007 Posted in Virtual Console, Wii
The sleeper hit (at least in my opinion) Crackdown from earlier this year that contained the even-more-popular-than-the-game-it-came-with beta test access for Halo 3, is not coming to the Wii. No, this is Crack Down, and is from the far off year of 1990. It was originally on the SEGA Genesis, and is now on it’s way to the Virtual Console… listed as “Coming Soon.”
In this one- or two-player adventure, you must infiltrate and destroy different enemy facilities using a series of carefully placed time bombs. Your goal is nothing short of saving the world from a group of evil cyborgs created by a crazy scientist with plans for global domination. By fighting your way through his various labs and bases, you can put a stop to his madness, but there are enemies at every turn. The cyborgs want nothing more than to destroy you and turn you into one of them, so use your cannon, bombs and machine gun to maximum effect as you wipe out the mechanical menace!
Now, I can’t attest to the awesomeness of this game, but it’s certainly cool to get such obscure games finding their way over to the virtual console.
SEGA is also releasing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 this week for the VC, and also listed as coming soon is ESWAT: City Under Siege.
